Privacy Policy

Binde LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Binde card collection tracking and social App. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Capitalized terms used in this Privacy Policy (such as "Public," "Private," "Discover," and "Account") have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.

Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information — your name, email address, and profile photo provided through Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple.
• Profile information — your chosen username, display name, avatar color, and optional location (country and state/region).
• Collection data — the cards you track, including ownership status, quantities, grades, conditions, and photos you upload of your cards.
• Photos and camera — if you use the card scanner or photo upload features, we collect and store images you capture or upload. These are stored in Google Firebase Storage and associated with your account. Photos submitted to the card scanner are also sent to Anthropic (the provider of the Claude AI model) for the sole purpose of identifying the card shown in the photo; see "Data Sharing" below for details.
• Social activity — posts, comments, likes, follows, and messages you send or receive within the App.
• Push notification data — if you enable notifications, we collect a device push token (provided by Apple) to deliver notifications about messages, follows, and trade or sale activity. This token is tied to your device and Binde account, not to your personal identity, and is removed when you sign out or delete your account.
• Usage data — general App activity such as which features you use. We do not use third-party analytics SDKs.
• Location data — city, country, and state/region, which you provide optionally during onboarding or in your profile settings. We geocode this information to approximate coordinates (latitude and longitude) solely to power the Discover feed and trading/selling features, which show nearby collectors within a radius. We do not collect precise GPS location and do not share your coordinates with third parties.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Binde App and its features
• Sync your card collection across your devices
• Enable social features such as following other collectors, viewing public collections, and direct messaging
• Send you push and in-App notifications about messages, follows, and trade or sale activity on your account
• Verify card ownership through our photo verification system
• Review user reports and enforce our Community Guidelines — reports are reviewed by a human member of our team, not solely by automated or AI systems
• Power the Discover feed and trading/selling features by matching your approximate location against other users within a radius — your coordinates are never displayed publicly and are only used for this distance calculation
• Respond to your support requests

We do not use your information for advertising. Binde does not display third-party ads and does not share your data with advertising networks.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using Google Firebase, including Firebase Authentication, Firebase Realtime Database, and Firebase Storage. Firebase is a Google service subject to Google's privacy practices. We do not operate our own servers. We use Firebase's built-in security rules to restrict access to your data.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, collection data, and associated content from our database. Some data may persist in Firebase backups for up to 30 days before being fully purged.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Your data may be shared in the following limited circumstances:

• With other Binde users — your public profile, posts, and collection (subject to your privacy settings) are visible to other logged-in users.
• With Google Firebase — as our infrastructure provider, Firebase processes your data to deliver the service.
• With Anthropic — when you use the card scanner, the photo you submit is sent to Anthropic, the provider of the Claude AI model, solely to identify the card shown in the image. Anthropic processes this image to return the card identification result to Binde and does not use it to advertise to you or build a profile of you for advertising purposes.
• With card pricing APIs — when you browse cards, we query the TCG Player API proxy to retrieve card prices. No personally identifiable information is sent to this service.
• As required by law — we may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process.

Sign In with Apple

If you sign in using Apple, Apple may provide us with a relay email address instead of your real email address. We use whatever email Apple provides solely to identify your account. We do not share this information with third parties.

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Binde is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has created a Binde account, please contact us immediately at evanmarkleybinde1@gmail.com and we will delete their account and associated data promptly.

Users between the ages of 13 and 17 ("Minor Users") may only use Binde with the reviewed consent of a parent or legal guardian, as described in our Terms of Service. Parents and guardians are responsible for monitoring their Minor User's activity on Binde, including the social features — posts, comments, direct messages, and trade/sale activity — which are otherwise available to all users aged 13 and older.

Your Privacy Controls

You have the following controls over your data:

• Profile visibility — set your profile to Public or Private in Settings.
  • Public profiles are visible to any logged-in Binde user. Your collection, posts, binder, and trade/sell listings are accessible to anyone on the App. You appear in the Discover feed, which shows nearby collectors based on approximate location, and other users can find you through Browse and search.
  • Private profiles restrict your content so that only approved followers can view your collection, binder, activity, and trade/sell listings. Users who are not approved followers see only your display name and follower/following counts. Private accounts do not appear in the Discover feed, are excluded from Browse suggestions, and do not show up in location-based trade or sell discovery — but you can still trade or sell with collectors you already follow or who are already approved followers, regardless of this setting.
  • Follow requests — when your profile is Private, new followers must send a follow request that you approve or decline before they can see your content. Switching from Public to Private does not remove your existing followers; it only affects new requests going forward.
  • Removing a follower — regardless of your privacy setting, you may remove any existing follower at any time from your Followers list (You → People → Followers → Remove). The removed user is not notified. If your profile is Private, they would need to send a new follow request to follow you again.
• Collection value — choose whether your collection's estimated value is visible to others.
• Block users — block another user by visiting their profile and selecting "Block." This removes the follow relationship and hides that user's content from your feed; it does not restrict the blocked user's own access to their own profile or account.
• Delete account — permanently delete your account and all associated data from within the App (Settings → Delete Account).
• Data requests — contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Binde after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
